Ok, I’ll be at @cxcfestival from Wednesday to Sunday, October 12-16, and I’ll have ALL my stuff with me. I’ll have copies of Saltwater Snow, A Bomb, the perennial favorite The Santoro School’s Handbook for Making Better Comics, and I’ll have my last 6 copies of Zona 3 with my art on the covers and endpapers (though I’m certain we’ll have copies with @franksantoro‘s art too). I’m even making a mock-up of In Pieces: Someplace Which I Call Home so people can have a look-see and do a pre-order.
AND
I’ll be debuting my short story, Dark Desert Dawn, which I’m very proud of. It’ll be a B&W, 32-page, comic-book-size, saddle stitched book, but made on good ol’ fashioned newsprint! Only 100 copies of this edition will be made, $8.
I also have the pleasure of tabling with art-comics phenom, @alyssa-berg, as well as two of the strongest cartoonists working today, @whimsicalnobodycomics (Whit Taylor) and @mardou-comics (Sacha Mardou)! Rounding out the entourage are CW’s very own hot beating heart, the Wonder Twins, and devastating cartoonists in their own rights, @sallyingraham and @juan-fernandez!
Scanned this with the consent of the great Sacha Mardou herself. This is her great, and rare (trust me on that) comic Manhole #3. Awesome to have art and words lean on each like she does, you pull one away from the other and it’s Jenga time!
Scanned in its entirety and put online by Phil Dokes, I made this mini-comic about ten years ago. Set in grimy Manchester, two girls navigate friendship, small town roots and groupie living!
I wrote about Julie Doucet and the art of the bleed for Comics Workbook Mag. Check it out!
